To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the death of Sir Winston Churchill, Halcyon Days has collaborated with the National Trust to proudly present a range of products depicting the great leader's love of painting. Created in 1932, 'Bottlescape', gives a sense of Churchill's fun-loving nature, "I have taken more out of alcohol than alcohol has taken out of me" is a quote frequently attributed to him and one which quite accurately explains the gargantuan bottle of brandy and multiple cigar cases flanking one side of this magnificent still life.
Suited to the dark, sumptuous colours of the painting, this prestige box is decorated with a black base, lined with burgundy leather and mounted on gold. As ever, this piece was designed and made in England, by our in-house artisans, with all enamel work being crafted according to the traditional techniques which Halcyon days has perfected over its long history. With this box, we hope to have created an enduring and fitting tribute worthy of such an impressive individual.
