Imagine having a husband so in love with you, that he orders for your mesmerizing blue eyes to be replicated on a huge scale on the ceiling of his house. Gladys Deacon didn't need to imagine this, it actually happened. And now Halcyon Days have featured her eye on a beautiful 40mm hand painted enamel cuff.
Part of a collaboration with the Great Houses of England, this beautifully hand-painted enamel cuff features 24ct gold decoration and is mounted with 18ct gold-plated rims. The North Portico at Blenheim Palace was painted by British artist Colin Gill, in 1928. Staring down from the ceiling are the bright blue eyes of Gladys, Duchess of Marlborough (née Gladys Deacon). She was reported to have climbed the scaffolding whilst the artist was painting to give him a blue silk scarf that matched her eyes as a color reference.
This piece is only available made to order and will; therefore, be dispatched four-six weeks after the date of purchase.
